As LED Sabre grows and the demand for qualified instructors increases, it is essential that we establish a support network complete with continuous professional development. Here at the Silver Sabres Combat Academy, we have devised two paths for potential candidates:
INSTRUCTOR PROGRAMME

ACCELERATED
For instructors and institutions looking to add their own LED Sabre classes as a new activity to offer their clients, we can deliver Master Training seminars that accelerate potential candidates through levels 1-3.
This pathway is best suited for those who already have considerable experience in coaching. It requires candidates to practice at home and complete assignments between seminars, in order to be able to develop the necessary skills to pass the assessments. The assumption is that candidates already possess the kind of discipline expected of a professional martial artist.

- Gym Instructors
- Fitness Coaches
- Martial Artists
- Dancers
- Stunt Performers
- Actors
TRADITIONAL
The traditional pathway for instructor training is completed by attending both regular classes and Master Training seminars. We have discovered that a combination of the two formats brings about the best results, as even those candidates with extensive martial arts or physical performance backgrounds will find some aspects of the syllabus unfamiliar. This path is the only way to become a level 4+ Instructor, which is the minimum level before we will consider qualifying any candidate as a fully licensed Silver Sabres Instructor, with their own franchised academy.
All training, accelerated or traditional, is primarily focussed on making sure the activities are safe, developmental, educational and fun! We place a huge emphasis on making sure that any combat is cinematic enough for displays and performances, and this again requires candidates to be able to lead from the front and demonstrate a high level of skill! Candidates will also need to train as referees in order to complete their Level 3 training.
Additionally, instructors that persist within the program and who go beyond the basics of tournament and display fighting will find themselves at the beginning of a journey into therapeutic methods. The basics studied throughout levels 1 & 2 eventually become the foundation of programmes designed to help patients who are recovering from illness or injury. With patience, lots of practice and experience, candidates will emerge as fully qualified instructors supported by a detailed syllabus and a network of professional therapists.
FRANCHISING
Up to Level 3, the content is available to anyone who can learn it and deliver it, and the only costs involved are for training and equipment. However, once an instructor begins training at level 4 or beyond, they will need to become licensed in order to teach the broader SSCA syllabus. Continuous Professional Development (CPD) will need to be completed each year, and licensees will need to pay either a royalty and/or an annual license fee. This is to ensure a consistently high standard of teaching, and to offer our clients an established network of qualified instructors that they know they can trust.
